In the last few years, law of attraction followers have become interested in the relationship of brainwaves with successful manifestation. If you are a devotee of the law of attraction you may believe that using brainwaves at a lower frequency can help you get more aligned with your soul’s intentions.

You can get into this state through practicing meditation or using tools for brainwave entertainment. Not only can you enter a deeper state of consciousness using this brainwave meditation, but it’s also a great tool for immediate relaxation.

Most of us have already learned that our subconscious thoughts and beliefs are contributors in our success.  But what’s becoming apparent is that the oscillating electrical impulses created in our brain can also be a key component in our pursuit of our dreams.

So you may be wondering what brainwaves are and what they have to do with successful manifestation? Let’s see what we can learn.

What are Brainwaves?

Our brain is made up of billions of nerve cells (also called Neurons) which continuously talk to each other, doing everything your body needs. But this communication produces an oscillating electrical voltage as well as generating an electric field.

These amazing neurons send information throughout our body in a chemical form and an electrical form. The waves created by these electrical pulses can be measured using EEG (electroencephalograpy ) medical equipment.

When we form our thoughts and emotions they can trigger different brainwaves. Some brainwaves can slow you down and make you tired, while others get you going by making you alert and active

The brain is the most important organ in the body, and it’s electrochemical. What that means is the stimulated neuron generates an electrical pulse, this is the “electro” bit, which then triggers chemical messengers in the body to do something, this is the “chemical” bit. The brainwave is the measurement of this electrical activity within our brain.

Five types of brainwaves, ranging from low to high frequency have been isolated by scientists and each brainwave is associated with a particular activity. Let’s remember though, that brainwaves don’t create our thoughts or experiences, they are a way to measure the processes happening in the brain when we think, feel and act.

The Five Brainwave Types

1. Alpha Brainwaves (8-13Hz)

These Alpha brainwaves are the type you want to produce when you visualize to attract the things you want. When you’re relaxed and trying to go into a deeper state of mind these are the waves you experience.

2. Beta Brainwaves (14-40Hz)

Beta brainwaves are the ones you experience when you’re awake and fully alert. They are the main brainwaves in your brain when you do everyday things like read, go to work and socialize. When you’re doing these cognitive tasks your neurons are constantly firing.

3. Delta Brainwaves (0.5-4Hz)

Delta brainwaves are released when the body is in a state of healing and rejuvenation especially when in the deepest stages of sleep. Delta is also classed as the entry to the sphere of the unconscious mind. If you are adept in very deep, transcendental meditation then you are likely to enter into this sphere.

4. Gamma Brainwaves (30-100Hz)

These are the fastest brainwaves, only measurable with a digital EEG recorder. Not to be confused with Hulk making Gamma rays, they are linked to higher mental activity. Gamma brainwaves are produced when you are doing something that needs a lot of thought and focus, especially learning new information.

5. Theta Brainwaves (4-7.5Hz)

Theta brainwaves occur when we are dreaming at night. People experienced in getting into a deep meditational state will make these brainwaves. Experts in chakra yoga believe that the “third eye” and theta brainwaves are associated .

Can You Train Your Brainwaves?

Anyone can train their body and mind to get into their chosen brainwave states. The frequencies of brainwaves are controlled by our involuntary nervous system or autonomic nervous system.

Even so, by training your mind to enter into a deep meditative state, it will allow you to have voluntary control of your brainwave frequencies.

Controlling your brainwaves can help you attract your dreams by reprogramming your subconscious and unconscious mind.

Why not practice this mindfulness meditation exercise and learn how to attain the alpha state and then move on to the deeper delta state.

Mindfulness meditation.

  • First of all you need to get into the right mindset for the meditation session.
  • Get into a comfortable position and take a moment to settle yourself down. Keeping your back straight, allow your shoulders to soften and close your eyes.
  • Take notice of how calm and gentle your breathing is, while your body continues to relax.
  • Be aware of the stillness of your body. Allow all your tensions to release while you slowly find a gentle breathing rhythm
  • Notice how your chest gently rises and falls as you slowly breathe in and out.
  • As you breathe, allow any intrusive thoughts to pass… then bring your attention back to your breathing. You don’t have to block out or eliminate your thoughts.
  • As you continue to relax, be aware of any feeling or emotion that comes to the surface. Make a mental note of the feeling …then let it go. Keep focusing on your breath.
  • By now the activity of your brain should have slowed down below 13 cycles per second, and you will be feeling very calm. You are in the alpha brainwave state.
  • Continue to be aware of your breathing.
  • Before long your mind will go beyond thoughts and move into a deep meditational state. This is the theta state, where your mind will become more aware of its infinite potential.
  • Now you can have a life with no limitations.

Need Some Help?

If you find it hard to keep your mind calm and don’t know if you’re getting into the right brainwave state there is a device that can help you to get and stay in the state of calmness.

MUSE: The Brain Sensing Headband  This device is a headband that fits across your forehead, over your ears so the electrodes touch the skin behind. It’s controlled via an app on your phone and you need  to attach a pair of earbuds so that you can listen to the sounds.

Rather than have someone speak you can choose sounds that you like such as rainfall. When your mind becomes calm the rainfall changes to wind and then onto birdsong. If you lose concentration then it moves back to wind or rain depending on how distracted you become. The goal is to spend as much time as possible listening to the birds.

There are different applications you can use and different types of Muse bands depending on your budget. Sometimes it’s hard to make yourself make time to meditate, a device like this one is quite motivating as well as allowing you to track your progress.

ProsourceFit Acupressure Mat  If you find it hard to relax properly on your chairs why not try an acupressure mat to lie on. It’s great if your muscles are tight and you can’t relax them. It looks a bit like a torture device but people find they quickly feel warmth in the muscles which helps with the relaxation. It’s easy to fold away and store. Use this to ease your muscles which then lets you relax your mind.

The Daily Stoic: 366 Meditations If you prefer some direction in a book then this daily stoic journal can offer some thought provoking references. Reading this daily can help you get into the right mindset for a meditation. Keep it on the dresser in your bedroom and read it when you wake up in the morning. It makes you think about life without emotion and covers different subjects each month.

Conclusion

This should help you understand which type of brainwaves you are experiencing at any given time of the day, just by your actions. Controlling them at will with meditation might bring about the perfect state for successful manifestation.

Keep practicing your mindfulness meditation exercise and you’ll become more proficient at getting into the right brainwaves state you need to benefit from the law of attraction.
